Cress Can Become Your Miracle “Morning Tonic”
Cress is packed with plenty of vitamins and minerals. Those who have discovered it's health benefits, high probably will never again want to do without this “miracle herb”.
Composition:
Cress is a major source of iron, folate, calcium, vitamin C, E and A. Cress seeds contain arachidonic and linoleic acid and is rich in calories and protein.
Health Benefits:
Estrogen:
Cress has a slight effect on estrogen and thus helps to regulate the menstrual cycle.
Galactogeen:
Kheer (a type of rice pudding) made of cress seeds, can increase milk secretion in lactating mothers.
Aphrodisiac:
Cress increases libido
Gastrointestinal Tract:
Cress purifies the blood and stimulates the appetite. Use cress seeds in case of constipation. Crushed Cress, mixed with warm water, is a good remedy for colic, especially in infants
Respiratory Tract:
Cress, when chewed, treats a sore throat, cough, asthma and headaches.
Anemia:
Cress seeds are amongst the richest sources of iron and a good aid in raising the hemoglobin level.

Cress has an abortifacient effect and should not be consumed during pregnancy! Cress also contains a substance that prevents iodine being absorbed by the thyroid gland. An excess of watercress can result in an underactive thyroid function.

1 cup of Cress

½ cup of Blueberries

1 cup of Pineapple
Cut the pineapple up in small pieces and blend the whole thing together ...
Cress Soup:
Peel one onion and chop it roughly. Cook the onion in a large pan with 25g of butter until the potatoes are soft. Peel and dice 250g potatoes and add them together with 600ml of chicken stock to the preparation. Cook the whole until the potatoes are soft. Add 200gr of cress and cook for another 5 minutes. Liquidise the soup and add 50 ml of cream. If you feel the soup is too thick to your taste, you can add some milk to dilute. Season with black peper and salt and serve hot, hot, hot!!
Melon, Cress and Pear Smoothie:

2 peeled, quartered and cored pears

1 gallia melon, quartered (remove pips and peel)

85 gr of watercress
Cut the flesh of the Gallia melon into bite size quarters and feed it together with the other ingredients through the juicer. You will have enough to fill about two glasses of this delicious nectar ... Stir and drink immediately ...
